HOW SUCCESSFUL IS THIS POEM AS SOCIAL COMMENT? Answer this final question using the P.E.E.R acronym as a guide to structure.
The song was called White America composed by Eminem. This song talks about the negative side of America e.g. Law, Government, School, Suburban Gangs and the Military. A quote the support my answer would be “hahaha! I'm just playing America, you know I love you.” This tells me that he doesn’t mean it and just teasing America just for the fun of it; even so he does take the joke seriously. This is one of the best song I ever heard (it is probably the first Eminem song I’ve listened to). Again, this song talks about the somewhat discriminative and offensive America, but that doesn’t change my mind about listening to this song for the millionth time.

  11. 1. The name of this song is “Supertramp - The Logical” and the composer who composed this song is Roger Hodgson
    2. This song is about a boy who was happy when he was a child (When I was young, it seemed that life was so wonderful a miracle oh it was beautiful, magical) then he was taken away to be educated (but then they sent me away to teach me how to be sensible, logical, responsible, practical) , then he is saying that he has no freedom (now watch what you say or they’ll be calling you radical, liberal, fanatical, criminal) and at the end of the song he is not sure on who he is (but please tell me who I am).
    3. The purpose of the composer is to inform us on how society doesn’t see us in an equal way, the composer says that how schools teach us how to do these things (sensible, logical, intellectual, cynical) without knowing our true background and how we feel towards it.
    4. The predominant mood of this poem changes, at first the mood is all joyful and cheerful and high in spirit then about the 4th stanza and onwards the mood changes dramatically onto a depressing tone, almost like your being forced to do something and he is unsure of who he actually is.
    5. The three poetic techniques that can be identified in this poem are: personification – (the birds singing happily) used to exaggerate the happy scenario that is current taking place, First person narration – used to show that he is explaining his own life and make it feel more of a sense of intimacy, and rhyme (joyfully, playfully watching me) – used to add rhythm to the poem and make it sound better and to put emphasis on the idea.

  12. 1)The name of the song is Bed Intruder and is composed by the schmoyoho’s youtube channel.

3)The purpose of this song is to alert families about unwanted intruders that enter your bedroom and attack you in bed and also how auto tune is awesome.
4)The predominant mood of the song is apathy because the song is a parody of a news’ interview.

  13. Social Comment

Who has time to worry about the boogie man under your bed when there is a rapist sleeping with you!? As anyone with logical thinking would know, the boogie man isn’t real but a rapist is (that is why it is safe to assume that Option B is more likely to happen in anyone’s lifetime). “He climbed through our windows” and into our ears the overnight sensation, Antoine Dodson released a song about bed intruders which became the viral video of the month with over 17 million views on YouTube. The bed intruder song is an auto tuned version of the interview that Antoine Dodson had with his local television network about how a rapist reportedly raped his sister, Kelly. With America having the world’s highest crime rate, it isn’t surprising that the above scenario happened, that is why this song is not so informative about rapists and the amount of crimes being committed in society because its sole purpose was to mock Antoine Dodson. Rape is nothing short of serious but coming from this ghetto witness, we’ll let it slide. But seriously, rape isn’t funny o-o.

  14. 1)The name of the following song that I’m going to be discussing is “Boom!” written by the band System of a Down.

2)“Four thousand hungry children leave us per hour from starvation, while billions are spent on bombs creating death showers.”
This whole sentence extracted from the 2nd verse of the song describes the uselessness of bombs and warfare and compares how thousands of families and children are dying from starvation and poverty when billions are spent creating weapons of mass destruction and bombs.

3)The underlying purpose of this song was meant as a protest against the war in Iraq and to show that war is not the only way to solve problems but grooms this world in blood. “Every time you drop the bomb, you kill the god your child has born.”
This song can be also stated to mankind fighting wars for the sake of wealth and other material gains while coming up with great reasons for it.

4)The predominant mood in this song is shown in an aggressive way and total anger in order to show the audience that they had enough of politics and all the bull-crap they’ve been fed by the government and society.

    5-Repetition “BOOM”
The repetition of “BOOM” is because they wanted it to be highlighted so it draws the audience’s attention to show them what our society is all about nowadays.

-First Person “I’ve been walking through your streets”
Shows us that the writer he has seen everything and all the lies that were meant to be the contrary.

-Rhetorical Question “Why must we kill our own kind?”
Emphasizes that the writer is confused in a negative way asking himself: “why are we doing this?”
